In an effort to protect copyright owners, rights holders and music stores from potential fraud, Catapult will sometimes request that our users verify their identity. This also mirrors best practices for KYC* standards and protects our artists and labels.
If you've been contacted by Catapult to verify your identity, it doesn't necessarily mean there is an issue with your account or that we suspect anything nefarious. Some requests for verification are randomized.
However, if you have been contacted by Catapult to verify your identity, you must comply with this request per our terms of service. Failure to comply may cause access to your account at Catapult to be limited or even canceled.
We offer two options for verifying your identity:
- Online Identity Verification via Stripe (Very Fast)
- Offline Identity Verification via a physical notarized Affidavit of Identity (Very Slow)
*Know Your Customer (KYC) standards are designed to protect financial institutions against fraud, corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing.
