Note: This information is only for Artists who already have an existing Official Artist Channel at YouTube
Summary
When Catapult delivers your music to YouTube, it appears as Art Tracks on an auto-generated Topic channel (often named like “Artist Name – Topic”). That is separate from your Official Artist Channel (the channel you manage yourself).
If your music is already on YouTube but not showing in your OAC’s Releases / discography, you can ask YouTube to add it using the “Let us know” tool in YouTube Studio. Catapult cannot submit that request for you.
Note: Catapult does not currently offer a service to create or claim a new YouTube Official Artist Channel on your behalf. This article only covers adding existing YouTube releases to an OAC you already have.
Before you start
- You already have an Official Artist Channel (or the owned channel you use as your artist channel).
- The title you want to merge with your OAC is live on YouTube (usually visible on your Topic channel or in YouTube Music search).
- You can sign in to YouTube Studio with the Google account that owns or administers that channel.
- Use a desktop browser (YouTube’s Releases tools are documented for desktop Studio).
Steps to report a missing release on your OAC
- Go to YouTube Studio and sign in with the account for your Official Artist Channel.
- In the left menu, click Content.
- At the top of the page, open the Releases tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Releases tab and click Let us know.
- Choose the option for a release that is available on YouTube but missing from your Official Artist Channel (add the release to your discography).
- Enter the details YouTube requests (for example: release title, artist name, UPC if you have it, and a link to where the release appears on YouTube).
- Submit the request.
Repeat once per album, EP, or single you want added, not once per song.
Track your request
On the Releases tab, check the Requests column:
- Under review: YouTube is processing the request
- Resolved: YouTube has finished updating the release metadata
Please note that it can take up to several weeks for YouTube to complete the merge and the timing is completely up to them.
Tips for a successful request
- Artist name match: The primary artist name on your Catapult release should closely match the name on your YouTube channel.
- Have identifiers ready: UPC and release title from your Catapult account help YouTube find the correct product.
- Topic channel is normal: Seeing your music on a Topic channel first is expected for distributor deliveries. “Let us know” is how you ask YouTube to surface that release on your OAC discography when it’s missing there.
