Once a recipient has accepted your invitation to receive splits for your tracks, you can then set the split percentages. Visit your album's page in your dashboard at Catapult and click on "Auto-Splits".
This will display all of the tracks on your album and their current auto-split settings. Before you ever add anyone as a split recipient to a track, the only person receiving any earnings is you, the account owner, who is receiving 100%.
You can select "Add a Recipient to this track" from the pull down menu for each track on the album to select a new recipient you would like to add and then click "Add Recipient".
Once you have added a recipient to a track, they will be added to the split. You will then be able to adjust the percentages for the three different types of royalties; Downloads, Streams or Sync. This gives you the ability to only split certain types of royalties with specific recipients (For example, if an artist sells off their track's streaming royalties to a hedge fund but not their downloads or sync royalties 😎).
When a recipient is added to a split for a track, the percentages are automatically split 50/50, so you'll want to make sure you adjust those individual percentages to reflect the percentages you want to split.
In the example above, "Johnny Rockstar" (The account owner) has added "Bob Maplethorpe" (The recipient) to the auto-split on the track and has set the share of their Downloads to 25%, Streams to 38%, and Sync to 24%. Going forward, "Bob Maplethorpe" will receive payments for their share of the track split(s) to their PayPal account. It's that simple.
For our more sophisticated Artists and Labels, we also offer advanced features such as the Recoup Threshold and the Recipient Cap.
