An album's title must be unique for any given artist per music store guidelines.
You cannot submit an album for an artist that has the exact same title as another album by that same artist. Even if the other album is no longer being distributed, the rule still applies. Once an artist's album has ever been distributed or published, that album's title can no longer be used again by that same artist. This helps prevent customer confusion and helps sanitize the music marketplace from unnecessary duplicates.
To differentiate similar album titles from one another, you would need to add versioning information or volume information (if applicable):
Example of album title Versioning:
1. The Joshua Tree
2. The Joshua Tree (30th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition)
3. The Joshua Tree (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)
Example of adding Volume information to the album's title:
1. The Best of Nickelback, Vol. 1
2. The Best of Nickelback, Vol. 2
