What Is a Spotify Artist URL?

Spotify Artist URLs are used to make sure that artists appear on the correct Artist page in their store (Especially in situations where different artists happen to have the same name).

 

During the album submission process, you will have an opportunity to provide Spotify Artist URLs for any Primary or Featured artists that you submit on your album.

 

 

To get the Spotify URL for your specific artist page on Spotify, do the following:

1. Load Spotify on your specific device.
2. Search for your artist name and continue to the artist's page in Spotify.
3.  Click on the ". . ." link on your artist page and click on "Share -> Copy link to artist".
4.  Paste that into the Spotify Artist URL section for the artist during the submission process.

For example, here is the URL for the Artist page in Spotify for the artist, Leucadia:

The ID "0pocOEvAFVPdmWwXtvsLYi" in the Spotify Artist URL above is the unique identifier for that artist name.

 

It is imperative that if you provide a Spotify Artist URL during the album submission process, that you provide the correct one, otherwise your content could be mapped to the wrong artist page and create a real headache for the other artist or create customer confusion.*

*Please note that intentionally providing the wrong Spotify Artist URL will not be tolerated by Catapult and your account could be subject to termination if this type of abuse takes place.

 

 

Once your first album is delivered into their store a brand new artist page will be created for you in Spotify. This new artist page will then be exclusively assigned to your Artist Name that you can use for any later submissions.
